Default Grill Mesh? (a little better than the HomeDespot stuff)

anyone know of a good source for some mesh grill material?
I'm planning to add inlets to the front of my GT3 front bumper and I would like
to add black mesh there and behind the lower grill openings.
I suppose painting the chrome/silver/stainless steel mesh black is an option.
THanks

I am looking too.....I was thinking about going to a couple of local "ricer" shops. I am SURE they would have some, or know where to source it.

I got the cup ones and have not looked back. They have lost the black, and are now a silver color, but thats from the paint being blasted off at the track.

Keeps all the nice rubber, glass, metal and other debris out of my radiators.

The little rocks and stuff still get in there, but you should see the stuff that I pick out of the mesh grill.

I would be carefull when picking out mesh from Home Depot. You don't want the holes too small, or too big. I think it will effect downforce.

McMaster-Carr sell every type and size of mesh made of every metal and with almost every coating known to man.

I have the same as Cosmos. It is expensive, but was designed for the car.

I've seen them and agree with Philip. IMO, this is not a good DIY as the Cup ones come pre-formed.

Group buy would be a GO for me too. I went to the carenwal's website and found the "P96 GT3 Cup Intake screens". I assume these are the ones?

This is DIY!

Any Alu mesh from a "ricer" shop will do since they all have the same diamond shape openings just like the $$$ Cup mesh. Cosmos $$$ mesh has already chipped and my $10 "ricer" mesh still holds up with very few chips. Cutting and bending the mesh is a piece of cake.

Ciao,

Johannes....just curious on HOW the mesh attaches to the bumper, if at all. Any insight on ho it is installed would be helpful.

There is a very gooey body panel glue (can't remember name) that you use and just bend the mesh around the bumper openings (from behind), sqeeze the mesh tight around openings and jam some of this body panel glue on there in generous amounts. Voila! Go for black mesh, silver looks too "rice"!

OK, interesting.. I can ask the shop how they do it...I am sure they will know. I was planning on black mesh...I agree that the silver one is a bit ricey.
