Default Question about HANS device

thinking about buying HANS after realizing that for 1k, it could save one's life at the track and seems like a pretty good idea. Anyone have one, if so, did they get model 20 (i have gtr3 seats).

Thanks in advance.

I have a HANS device I purchased 2 years ago. It is quite similar to the current version. It works with regular Recaros, and it may work with the GT3
seats as well. However, you may want to look at the HANS compatible harnesses.

As always, harness placement and geometry must be well-aligned for HANS to work efficiently.

this is the new hans device,

the area where the belts go over, are now "winged" and the Hans specific belts are narrower to fit it.

modle 20 is correct for gt3. call hmsmotorsport.com and ask for joe. he's very good with hans requirments and he ships faster than if you buy from HANS direct. also you need to know your neck size.

i used my with both 3" and 2" shoulder straps. both work, but the 2" is much more secure and i would recommend that. furthermore, even with GT3 seat's shoulder strap guides i would still put split locking rings on the shoulder strap where they attach to you roll bar. you don't want the strap to go too far apart.

you can get the split rings from tcdesignfab.com.

oh, for the harness, you don't have to replace the entire set, you can just order the shoulder straps.

IF you do go with 2" shoulder strap, you MUST use the HANS. the belts aren't meant to be used without HANS ever. i like that b/c it forces to to remember that i should have HANS on at all time.
