Here is a tire that is a good dual purpose R compound...works in the rain.
They have sizes that are slightly larger than stock..... with proper diameter's...
I have had some good luck with these in Solo 1 and were very popular with the Z06's.
Rim range Diameter section width/rim size
245/35R18 8.0 - 9.5 24.5 9.8 on 9.0
265/35R18 9.0 - 10.5 25.1 10.7 on 9.5
305/30R18 10.5 - 11.5 25.0 12.4 on 11.0
335/30R18 11.5 - 12.5 25.7 13.5 on 12.0
the 265 looks good on a 9" rim....the 245 works with the stock wheels.
Tire rack is out of the 305's ...who else sells these?

For track use (I have no autox experience), I found the V700s to develop the 'groove of doom.' I can dig up pics if you are interested. But the tread blocks right inside the outer blocks eroded badly and eventually corded prematurely along this section. They did have great stick though.
Also, for dry track use, they really need to be shaved or you risk chunking them. . . sorta kills the idea of using them as dual purpose rain/dray tires. OTOH, if the Toyos come out in the right size, they can be used unshaved in the dry w/o chunking, albeit a slower tire IMHO.
