1000 seems steep IMHO. My local dealer charges 500, but has been known to waive the entire fee, but a consignment deal may be different, as in, they incur lots of hassle for very little upside.

Get them to knock it down if you get the CPO through them.

I agree with Frayed. $1,000 is too much for pushing some paper. My dealer did it for much less than $500. Maybe $150 or $250. However, I have purchased several P-cars from my dealer and they take good care of me.

High $80s, low $90s. I bought a used '04 GT3 from a dealer, Speed Yellow, 12K miles for $88.5K. I feel I got a great deal. Low optioned: a/c and Litronics only. The label says I have 288, headlight washers, but I don't.

My dealer in the Bay Area gave me in the mid $90s (trade) for my 04, white, so I guess color and options can mean a lot.

If you can get what you want..color options etc and be around the mid 90s you'll be OK. If you want to sell your soul and compromise your wants for what's available then maybe you can do better (or get really lucky)

It would be good to keep in mind that you should not even drive the car hard until it has 2000 miles on it or so. So... if your going to do some track work, AX or the like a 2k to 4k mileage car at high eighties would be the best choice. They are all under warranty anyway so the risk is minimal. I bought an 04 in march for 87,500. its Arctic Silver Metallic and had 4700 on the clock and in perfect condition. I changed out all fluids, added a 3m clear bra system and bouht some Kinessis K18 track wheels. With Tax i'm already into the car for 98k. I still need GT3 seats and a techquipment roll bar. My goal was to be under 100k and I'm just going to miss it . Good luck

A little shameless self promotion -
iborroel, I'm putting my 04 GT3 up for sale here in Bend. Carrera Motors is the local Porsche, Audi, BMW dealer and they would take your cars in trade on my car. We're in good with them as we've just bought two cars from them.

I'm putting together the details on my car and will post it in a bit.

gmund 1: I will eventually drive the car like it was meant to be but I don't know if I will put in DEs or not. I have a 944 turbo track car for that. I may use in a drivers skill class that the local PCA offers. It's not a DE though. I may need this with this car. I had a 930 before but for some reason I feel that this car will still handle differently.

MarkPcar: I had been following your thread. I will hopefully be going from my E46 M3 to a GT3. You will being the exact opposite. I may give the guys a call at Carrera Motors. Is there anyone in particular that I should speak to?

Dan Horton is the general manager and the person I work with. They don't have my GT3 on their lot, but I'm confident we could work out the trade-ins if you want my car - Dan knows my car is for sale.

Do you mind revealing the Dealer who gave you the mid $90s deal? Im thinking of doing the same on my 05.

Thanks John(Stockton)

I wouldnt pay $95 for it. when I was looking I found a couple from private owners that had about 2-5K on the clock. Best deal was $85. I had a line on one from a dealer new on the lot for $92k.
Mine stickered at $125 THEN had the manthey on it I paid $95K for a car that had $145K worth of stuff
including purchase price. The only thing I can think of is dealers asking abit more since they are out of
prodcution. But I would think $90k should be plenty. Offer that and walk away and look eslewhere. THe only thing that bothers me about my suggestion is, IF there is/was an upturn in the Market that I dont know about since the end of the production phase.

The production ended a while ago, personally I would pay the extra and get a new car sitting in dealer lot, but that's just me. I like to know how my cars were broken in.
