Default Is the GT3 a wide body?

...or based on the narrow body?
Obvious to you guys, I'm sure but I can't seem to find a definitive answer...

HooliganX is correct, it is a narrow body. It is based off the C4 chassis, the narrow one, not the C4S widebody. You can still fit 315s in the rear and you get great aerodynamics for good pull at high speeds.

MitchB, I have a 930 as well and so I never want to go to narrow. However, I'm considering a GT3 as a replacement someday and it turns out that the 996 narrow bodies are almost as wide as the old 930, but the 997 narrow bodies are actually WIDER than the 930 due to more pronounced fender flares than the 996 carries. So I figure if the 997 GT3 turns out to be all that the 996 was and more (dry sump etc.) then that would be a nice upgrade and it would still have nice hips like the 930.

The gt3 tub also has some significant welding compared to the standard c4. I have a friend who is director of our local community college welding program and he has an article from a trade publication, on how the gt3 is welded as it differs from the standard car. He thought it was amazing from a technical aspect. Will try to get a copy and post it.
