How about those who bought on their parents funds? Should they average their parent’s age?

From my experience with the Porsche Financial Services, they are not used to dealing with less-than-30 crowds, unless of course you put down 30-50% of the car.

I have 762 FICO when I applied for a loan at PFS and I was asked to put down $40K on the GT3 or there will be no-go; period. Mind them that I have no major loan on my record, car, student or otherwise.

I assumed that everyone under 35 with the GT3 must be making six-figures or that the parents are or something else. Perhaps home equity loans since real-estate prices are insane.

I think I might just call my Dad! Then again, what joy would I have to “fly on a pair of borrowed wings”? Let me own a couple of business first… I’ll just have to be more realistic and stick to my M3’s… That’s life.

P.S. Meanwhile, $5 Quick Pick here and there...

Parents money? Such a notion has *never* entered my mind.

home equityline may not be so hot as rates cont. to climb. Prime is now at 5.75, will be over 6 for sure by year end.

762 fico is great. but since you don't have track record of major loans, that may be where PFS is looking at. usually lenders look for FICO, debt/income ratio and track record.

now if my parents would spring for a CGT for me...... LOL.

John, I have financed '99 E36 M3 and '02 E46 M3. E36 was traded in for E46 and E46 loan was paid off 3 months ago. You see, I am preparing myself for the "Big League." Turned out that I need more time...

Hey... all in due time...

P.S. However, as far as the BMW FS is concerned, I am in their elite catagory for financing. If only they booted Chris Bangle...

Under 35 and making 6 figures is nothing these days. My credit is fcuked so I have to pay cash for everything and I need to stop donating money to the Indians at Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun before I can get another car.

I kinda agree... some of my friends who are lawyers under 35 make a little over $100K a year. Then again they work 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM. On average!!!

Have a GT2 and a GT3 Cup - first Cup (993) at 35, first 996 Cup @ 39, GT2 @ 42. I voted in the 40's catagory!

First Porsdhe at 22 years old- still have it and my 56th birthday is tomorrow... had too many P-cars to list over the years but got the dream car last year, the GT3. Still young enough to enjoy it- hell, Paul Newman can still race competitively at 80 and a few years back a 75 year old won the national championship in Formula Atlantic class in SCCA- the FASTEST class in SCCA and racing against 19 year old hot shoes!!

One difference between some of us "old guys" and the younger set is that I paid cash for my cars!! Been there, done that, and now enjoying the fruits of my labor.
