Need advice on modifying GT bumper
Greetings GT3 & GT2 community,
I have purchased one of these GT3 front bumpers.
first question:
What is the correct name for this bumper?
second question:
is a lower lip available/who's got a good price?
third question:
what are the inlets/slots on the top edge for?
can I modify my bumper similarly before its painted?
I really like the GT2 louver type slots is that also possible?
oh wait one more,
Is a nose bra/clear bra available? Anyone have a used one they want to get rid of?
THanks
p.s. I paid $1200 delivered, fair price?
The new GT3 style sideskirts are coming from Precisionporsche, those aren't polyurethane fiberglass ($400)

1) It is usually called a GT3 Cup Bunper Cover.
2) The lower lip is available. Contact The Racers Group - they are a Rennlist Sponsor.
3) The slots let hot air from the radiator escape more easily and it reduces lift on the front of the car. The Gt2 version may require mods to the mounts for the rads. Same idea - different look.
4) Clear bras are usually made of a film which is cut and carefully fitted to the car. removing it destroys it but not the paint.

do you think I could purchase just the black/plastic/kevlar louver bit on your GT2 and retrofit onto my GT3 bumper?
how do you diffentiate in terms of description between the Gt3 bumper with the Turbo headlights (like on your GT2) and the GT3 bumper with the original 996 headlights?
I want to avoid buying the wrong lower lip spoiler/clear bra/nose bra.
Thanks again.
p.s.
the racer's group doesn't appear on the menu of Rennlist sponsors

Thanks I will put a call into DEVEK.
Brandwine Porsche says its $300 for the GT2 Louvers.
By the way guys this is for a 2000 Boxster S. (Sliver and Red)
I also picked up a pair of GT3 Seats(Red) for just under $2,000 delivered.
Hopefully I can run the harness belts to the stock roll bar.
And I upgraded my 17" S wheels to 18" Carrera 5 spokes $1900 delivered and
the Toyo Proxes RA-1's ($900) from Frisby tire are waiting to be mounted.
p.s. I also ordered GT3 sideskirts (the new GT3 style) from PrecisionPorsche.com for $430 delivered. Hopefully it will even out the lower and bigger front bumper.

hey man that's very cool.
I called Devek today and ordered the GT2 Louvers for $160. Maybe I'll com up with a way of cutting out an opening and popping in the Louvers. Devek is also checking on the lower lip spoiler. They say there are two versions one that is about $150 and anohter that's like $400.
oh and I'm going to remove the GT3 seat openings and get them painted like yours. My GT3 seats are Boxster Red, I think Sliver will be a much nicer contrast. Hmmm maybe I can paint the seat back too!

thanks I'll go with the Supercup lip. I'm thinking of being impractical and painting it red
A fellow autocrosser Picked up his GT3 and autocrossed it the next day, dealer tags were still on the back, with each run we could hear the lip grinding into the ground on this tight turn. Everyone just cringed while he laughed.
Say, Johannes how did they draw the holes for you three inlets? Was a template used?
Its very well done, Not something you can really afford to make a mistake with. I'm going to see if this GT2 Louver will fit in if a hole is cut out. I'm thinking about leaving about of 1/2 an inch between the hood and the Louver. I want it held in place on all four sides, I don't want it to pop out at speed.
The guys at DEVEK told me there are two versions of this bumper, the factory version and the Supercup which is apparently wider and longer. I guess you have the Supercup version?
here is mine

excellent indeed, the paint match is perfect.
I guess a Silver hood crest is the way to go.
do you know what sort of mesh they used to cover the grills? Racing specific or a generic building type material? I guess its best to consider doing this before installing the front bumper.
Have you considered doing the amberectomy of the turn signals? I did before upgrading to Litronics. Took half an hour with the soldering gun and some pliers. fantastic result.

the smaller standard should be the cheaper one?
seem to recall someone posting the SUpercup was $200 from Sunset Porsche.
Devek said it was under $200 for the SC.
