Floating hats

What are the right pads to use? I have a 25/75 street/track bias. I have heard the R19s mentioned. I don't want then to squel every single time I come to a stop, but a little noise wouldn't be that bad. The trade off is also rotor life I understand.

I am running pagid orange on my daily driver. Unless you are in stop and go traffic or a lot of slow stops of 20mph or below you shouldn't hear any squeeling. However I was stuck in bumper to bumper traffic - very rare for me, and I had to roll up the windows because the squeel was that loud.

not the case if i order them in quantity. Brembo can custom make those for us. question is will there be enough people that buy them.

20C4S - Myself and another GT3 tracker here would each buy a set of the front and rears (for a steel rotor car) if they will make them for the hand brake. I am getting only 12 track days on a set of front rotors right now. The rotors are cracking before the pads wear out.

I use the RS-19's on the front with the AP floating hats. I use the standard OEM pad and OEM rear brakes.
This is a fantastic compromise because I get cold street stopping power (and get to use my handbrake) and almost no squeaks as well as fantastic track stopping power. You don't need the rear floating hats, because the rear rotors are not subject to as much heat. Once, you've made the investment in the "hat" the rotors are cheaper than OEM "cup or stock". It is truly a win-win scenario with NO downside.

Pagid 4-2-1 compound for street, Pagid RS19 or 29 on the track (4-2 compound) on all fours. I do not recommend mixing compounds, the results are risky at best. As I've said before, the trick is to match the pads to the operating tempature of the rotors. Too hot is not good for some pads and too cold is not good for others.

Exactly!
The rears are not getting as hot, so you can use the OEM which is fine for street and well as track use (I'm not talking about a 4.5 endurance race, but 30 minutes of track use at a time) If you dont' need to use track rotors (hats) that means they are NOT generating too much heat. You know this because the rotors are NOT cracking! Therefore the fine OEM pads will work for the rears. I have about 1,000 track miles with great results. The fronts need a high temp pad no doubt. Whatever your flavor is.
