Default Euro GT3 seats: question

I take my 4 y/o occasionally in my car to school. I'd like to add a rollbar, GT3 seats and harnesses, rendering the rear seats useless (prolly just take them out)..

This would mean her booster seat would have to fit up front. Will a 15.5" wide kid seat fit in the GT3 seats? Recaro Pole Positions appear to be 16.9" wide by this Link, giving me hope.

BTW, black leather GT3 seats are on sale at Suncoast. 2500/pair (you'll have to call, as the web price is 3400 IIRC).

Sorry, I don't think it can be done, I measured mine...the narrowest end is 13" and widens immediately to about 14.5" up to the middle part and then widens to max. 15.5". FWIW, brandywine porsche used to sell a pair ~2100 or 2200 when I bought mine a couple of months ago. Any how, is it a good idea to place booster seats in the front seats ?, I don't have kids, but I thought it was a no..no.

You need the Porsche child seat and air bag disable bar from Gert @ Carnewal.

Don't put your 4 year old up there without these!

I don't think so, not with the airbag deactivated (that's where the warnings come from). In fact, two of the three Porsche kiddie seats can only be mounted in the front seat.

Anyway, thanks for the info. It's not looking too promising.

My porsche booster seat fits perfectly in the GT3 seats, (if you use only the seat portion and not the backrest portion of the booster seat).

I take it the backrest portion doesn't fit properly? Damn. I think this Britax is the same as the Porsche seat, and the seat back does not appear any wider than the bottom.

Jeff, I saw where a guy had that setup (GT3,Das bar) with seats in place, he just had an upholstery shop notch them out to fit the bar and applied velcro for quick removal. I guess the kids can just climb around the bars to get in/out. Kinda like a moving jungle jim.

Jeff - recall one of the Rennteam GT3RS drivers commenting that he had no problem fitting a child seat.

No, the curvature (or the lack thereof) of the winged head support and the upper backrest do not fit with the shape of the GT3 seat, and causes the child to lean forward in the booster.

Thanks for the input. Weird, b/c Gert said it is compatible. I'll heed your words, though, since it sounds like you tried to fit the backrest. Looks like I'll test fit the seat on a sparco evo II and see if that works (less upper backrest curvature).
