How funny, I have the big RS wing and I'm never challenged. Never! Ever!

I guess it either because there is enough excitement in Las Vegas for the locals already or the fact that my license plate reads "190 EZ". People just don't bother.

BTW, I would never accept as I do NOT street race. That is why I go to the track.

I don't know about where the rest of you live. Like you I get these street toughs with their stangs, camaro's and ricers trying to bait me.

Here in Georgia, if you are racing with someone, and they crash and burn. You are considered responsible for the crash , injuries or death along with the guy you're racing...provided he lives .

Noel - the wheel I cracked was a Fiske not stock. I've already sent it off to Fiske (via Wheel Enhancement) and I should know this week if the inner is ok or if I have to buy a complete wheel.

I've never had anyone try to race me in the 19 months that I've had the GT3. Maybe Canadians are different, or my commuting route is too busy for racing.

My experiences...
Not been challenged at all, hopefully a "yet"... Lots of gawkers and rubberneckers, a few speed up and pace to get a look, gotten a few thumbs -up, seeing similar reactions as others do. Had some guy in traffic in a beater Honda cut me off on purpose knowing I'm not gonna challenge him with this car. Still, never had a car gather this much attnetion, even when driving a replica 914 racer with all the decals on the street.
One of my buddies quotes, "You've reached a high water mark with this car, it doesn't get any better but watch out its all down hill from here..." Not if I have anything to do with it!
BTW, she's all broken in now, 100% healthy and clean to the redline. What a car! Ready for DS after the first oil change.

It happened to me 4 times yesterday, which is why I leave the damn thing at home most of the time.

1. Highway onramp stop light -- two guys in a F-350 construction truck, driver asks if I want to race (through open passenger window) of course he was only joking and admiring the car
2. On the highway about seven minutes later, blue hot rod coupe with a SS marking, white stripes wants to race
3. After the visit to HRE it was some ricer on south bound I5
4. On the way home it was a Harley

You can see why:

Quartermile, if you paint your hood..I'll start harrassing you !
Porsches are race bait. I get provoked 2- 3 times a day in the GT3, & used to get just as much in the TT. Oddly enough, BMW M3's (with younger drivers) and 540's (older guys with combovers) are the worst offenders. Only one I"ve ever taken on was a guy in a 540, with the TT. He had no clue that the TT had over 500 HP, it was over in one gear change.

that is great. Robin, are you going to Portland? I pick up the car from Barrier tomorrow morning. I will be at D.S. on the 19th as an instructor. Bill put me on skid and oval so I should get some quality time in the world of oversteer :-)

I have to work on Friday, but I'll be over on the other side on the 19th, at the Autocross, (the world of understeer ) If i get done, I'll come over and play.

I don't know why we do those together, I want to be able to do both. I plan to do all the PCA AutoX events this season plus some of the local SCCA events. (We got 17 runs in on Saturday at Bremerton)

That is great! The PCA events are not compatable with my ADD. 8 hours for 3 runs. I might hook up with the SCCA for that. I have been a track rat in the past. Not too many GT3s out there Curt is the only regular. I look forward to running with you and Scott. I have know him for a while.

That was unusual, It was an SCCA practice, and only 22 cars showed up including a couple of National Champions, we had barely enough prople to work the course, but everyone got 18-19 runs, Very unusual. Sunday they had over 50 , and just got 8 runs.
