I also found this,

I´m not German but I speak the language fairly well, so here it is in short:

"It's a presentation of a Porsche GT 3 from the German tuner Koro, situated in Heilbron. The video is shot on the “Nordschleife” of the Nürburgring.
The car has a 4.6 liter engine, no turbo, no blower, but generates 500 Nm of torque and 500 hp at the rear wheels. Redline is just below 8,000 rpm.
Front end, hood and doors are carbon fiber items and all windows except the front screen are plastic. Total weight 1,140 kg´s, which is a reduction of approx 250 kg´s compared to stock. Each door weighs only 4 kg´s. A stock door is eight times that weight.
It out-accelerates a normal turbo without problems. 0-100 kph in 3.5 sec, 0-200 kph in 10.5 sec and the top speed is 330 kph.
If you want a car like this, in addition to supplying an original GT3 you have to fork up another 115,000 Eur for the mods."

Basically this thing has better Power/Weight than a CGT but we arleady know that the RSR (with less power and similar weight) can spank a CGT. So if the object is to have a road going Porsche faster than a CGT .. why not just start with a CGT?

BTW I think the driver is an idiot.

22 lbs lighter and an extra 100Hp than a 2005 GT3 Cup Car.

They run that car on 265/35R18 and 295/30R18 MPSC. The wheels are the lightest 1 piece Magnesium available for the GT3. The front ones are 8.5 x 18 ET 45 and the rear ones 11 x 18 ET 59.

Well, cause the GT3 as modified there runs about $250k US vs. $450 for the CGT (base).

Wouldn't be like $300K US ($100K Euro base + 112K Euro in mods) So just tag on another $50K Euros and import a CGT from the US market instead. Unless of course you want to be devious and terrify some guy in a SLR with a GT3.

No. GT3s are about $100k USD (even less if you're buying using Euros in the US) + $112k Euros = $151k USD or about $250k USD total (again even less if you're a European buying a US model in Euros).

Not true, for example GT3 is $72.5K GBP in England which is $140K US.
GT2 is listed for $250K US!

Look on the lower right hand side of this page:

http://content3.eu.porsche.com/prod/...ighlightsintro

In Germany it is the same price as in England almost ($135.5K)
http://content3.eu.porsche.com/prod/...ighlightsintro

To my knowledge they don't bargain on new car prices in Europe. It's MSRP, not a penny less or more.

So actually starting with $102K Euros in Germany + $115K Euros in mods you are looking at $288K US -- $33k more than GT2. Don't you think CGT is a bargain for JUST $112K more -- i.e. for someone living in Europe. And doesn't make this Koro GT3 kind of none sense?

And if the European buys the car in the US using Euros? Even at $288k though, that's a heck of a car - every bit as good as the RUF R12 they get like $350k for.

You're missing the point in a GT3 v. CGT track comparison. The CGT, while probably the best car on the planet, is not the best to run at the track weekend in and weekend out (in a really serious fashion) simply because when things break they won't be as easily replaced and you don't have tons of teams with CGT cups who are knowledgeable to help you set the car up.

Here is KORO engine mod pricing on the MDT-Tuning site:

I wonder what they are planning for the 997 GT3...

If you import a new car from the US, it ends up being the same price as buying new in Europe after taxes. You can work around the system for cars that are a few years old by aruging to the taxman that it has depreciated alot but NOT on a 2004 or 2005 car. So there is the falacy in my argument regarding the CGT.

A 500hp motor conversion at $33K Euros though would make a hell of lot of sene, if the dollar wasn't in the toilet.

So import taxes are 35% or more?

Yep ... something like that. Income tax is like 55% and gas is $5 a gallon. My numbers are a few years old though because haven't visited the in-laws in some years.
