I wasn't driving it at the time. Pro-driver Cort Wagner was behind the wheel.

Just when you think you're pretty fast it humbling to note that pro race car drivers are on a whole different level..

Cort did a 137 in my stock R32 with me on board. In this mounths Motortrend the 997s did a 140 and the C6 did a 139..Sub 140s seem to be a good time for a GT3 when driven by mear mortals. I run a 151 with my GT3 and GT2 on a good day but I'm really slow. The fastest anyone else has driven the R32 is a 147(Richard).

Wagner is a real Champ, it is good to see that the GT3 is capable of some fast times, 1:34 is still a good time.

Wow - so, the GT3 is 9 sec/lap faster than a VW R32 with the same driver? That's an eternity. Did both cars have street or DOT rubber?

Cort is a great driver and he makes it look sooooo easy. He was very quick in the Lotus as well.

OK - that makes sense. So the true difference would probably be 4-5 sec/lap on the same tires?

Did Cort just drive your car a couple of laps or did you use him as an instructor? He is a good driver, very quick hands and feet, but I am very impressed with his instruction. Repeated sessions with him, your comfort level and times improve dramatically. Be a sponge and listen to his car set up info, he is excellent in that as well.

The R32 also had a passenger on board, albeit Carl is of modest weight.

I was looking at his bio today (on the ALMS site) - modest guy. He is quite the accomplished driver.

However, he needs to fill us in on the details of this moment from his bio:

Best non-racing moment was being in the Jacuzzi in the famous “grato” in the Playboy Mansion with 10 playmates ….
The there is this just to fall back upon:
Graduated from University of Southern California with degrees in Philosophy and Psychology ….
Nice guy too. Glad to hear that he has the DP ride with Ganassi next year.

More fun then I usually have at WSIR - couple of "mock duels" with Noel (Yel GT-3) and Richard (Meridian Blue GT-3) were great fun!
