Default Minerva Blue, a new member of the Malibu family

I liked this color when I saw it in the Chandler Museum in the summer, but in the bright CA sunlight I have to say it is by far the prettiest color I have seen on any 996 IMHO. (I'll let Richard tell you what he thinks about the new 3 compared to the outgoing 2 he swapped it out for.)

WOW, that color is fantastic! When did they start offering that! Its kind of like the old Riviera Blue, but metallic, and a slightly better hue.

It's a custom paint-to-sample car -- any color is possible if you're willing to pay Porsche the $$ and have some clout (in the case of some models). Otis Chandler met the criteria.

Opps, I forgot to mention that it was a special order color, the car was created by special order for Otis Chandler, and was on display at his museum for the last 18 months or so. It is a unique, one off special order car, but I believe it was a '70's Porsche color.

I have a bunch of pictures of that car on my camera phone from when it was sitting on the lot at Auto Gallery with a big SOLD sign on it a few weeks back. It's stunning.

Thanks Andrew great pics of my new cart! It looks even better at the track going thru the turns.

It was an awesome day in LA reminding me of the Alamifi coast. what you couldn't see in the pics was the incredible ocean view.

Too much of a candy color for me, the slate grey and speed yellow rules though!

Ciao,

Nice to see these old Porsche colors on the newer cars. Anyone for blood orange?

That is one of the most amazing colors I have seen yet on any car yet alone a GT3. Truly a special car.

Great photos, Andrew. That color is spectacular. Not sure I'd want it for my own, but beautiful to look at.

I'll second the vote for Blutorange. My favorite color on a GT3.
