Default Why not a GT2RS?

I was just wondering why Porsche hasn't made a lightweight version out of the GT2? Since the GT3RS is quite close to the 360 CS in performance a GT2RS would outperform it and still be cheaper..

Any thoughts from the owners?

How would it be cheaper? The GT2 is about the same price as a 360 CS.

From what I've heard, the GT3 RS already outperforms a 360CS around a track. Also a lightweight GT2 would be cool, but they don't race the GT2 anymore so I don't see as much of a reason for it as there is with the GT3.

If it would sell, that's a reason. Porsche apparently thinks not.

They seem to be having a hard enough time selling the standard GT2 for the money they want.

the GT2s on showroom floors arent moving at all

mabye its because you get all the handling minus a bit of torque/power for half the asking price in the GT3

If Porsche sold a coffee cup with the letters RS on it - there would be people putting down deposits, people lining up, buying spots in line on eBay, to buy it. Rennlist would make a coffee cup RS forum. Then we would be left to wonder: if they can make coffee cup RS, why haven't they done the same with ballpoint pen (especially when Ferrari offers a Scuderia version of the same)???

Am I the only one mad that the newest model coffee cup weighs more than the previous one? Is it a real RS?

A company here in England has made an unofficial GT2RS. It's basically a modified GT2 with 570bhp, alterations to the bodykit. It's featured in the latest GTPurely Porsche magazine. The company is 'Specialist Cars of Malton' and number is (+44) 07000 993 911

you just beat me to it! I read the magazine in a shop and thought of this thread. Did they lighten the car at all? If not then it's no RS!

It doesn't mention any lightening.

Just power increase, suspension upgrades, body kit, new alloys, new seats and trim inside.

I can photograph the magazine and upload if anyone wants me to??
