What GT3 options are worth the cost?

You can get the leather covered CD holders... Is there anywhere I can get hold of the rubberised CD tray and panels for the front center console, I'm sick of looking at cheap Hyundia parts in my "$100" car?

Yup, forgot about the thicker wheel. It's a must especially if you have big hands and I second the nomination for console delete. Much more leg room and gives you more space between the wheel and the knee...a big factor for taller folk like me...6'7"

In Europe, is the console popular?

The console is standard on all 911 versions except the GT2/3. Of the GT cars I've seen I'd say about half have the console.

Jim, you should have driven up to Elkhart for the ChampCar race and parked it next to mine- two GT3s in Porsche Park would have looked great...

Hmm good question Holger! In any event I tend to trust the factory guys about such things. If Porsche sells the roll bar I figure they know enough about mounting points, bolt strength etc. to establish that it's safe. Perhaps welded in bars made of thicker tubing with mounting plates welded to the chassis are safer. They are also ugly and ruin re-sale value. I don't car if other roll bars can support ten times the impact as long as mine is adequate to keep the roof over my head. I also like the fact that it is designed as part of a safety system - the GT3 seats are made in such a way as to make the roll bar safe even when I am not wearing a helmet. That's important to me because I am much more likely to be rear ended on the street than on the track.
Vegasgolf - the GT3 seats are now available with Alcanatar inserts and since they simply velcro in they can be added at any time. Look nice and they are very grippy.
Regards,

i have two GT3 seats. i keep oem seats for when i sell the car b/c some buyers will not like GT3 seats b/c its lack of adjustments.
however, if you have two GT3 seats, the rear cabin is pretty much useless as you can't stuff things in the back. you can move the seat forward, but still hard to access back. if you want to use the rear cabin to haul things, keep OEM on passenger side as you can fold the seat back.

Mac - the carbon sills do not stand up to wear and tear at all well. A local guys has them - looked very nice when new but after a year they are scratched and rather sad looking. It may have to do with the unpaved paddock at the local track mind you ...
