Port Damage!?!?!
I am not sure how to word this so here goes.
I think my car had port damage, dealer swears it did not, I believe him, he seemed like an honest guy the whole time, I have no reason to doubt him besides the obvious. It is not that I can tell there is damage it has just been a sneaking suspicion since delivery, just a gut feeling with the whole delivery process.
So...how can I check with Porsche if my car did have port damage?
Does Porsche have to disclose ANY damage at port. What about a wheel or a broken windsheild?
In California at least, I know that the dealer does NOT have to report damage if under $500, ie; car was keyed slighty and repainted and repaint cost $499, does not have to by law be disclosed, if the damage was $501 then yes it does.
Is this the same with Porsche as in PNA? or do those laws only apply to the selling dealer and not the importer??
Is there a way I can check with PNA with my VIN?
Thanks

I think I have a brain tumor. Doctor tells me I don't and I trust him but I still think I have a tumor. I can't feel the tumor and I have no problems but I just have a suspicion that I have one. Who can I contact to tell me if I have a tumor?

I see how it is
Fine, You can all GFY, but here
My car was built before another GT3 that the dealer ordered. The otehr one came in on a later boat, but was released to the dealer a full 3 weeks earlier then my car.
So to put this into prespective. My car sat at the port for 4 weeks!! while another GT3 that was built after me got to the dealer 3 weeks before my car.
That is my suspicion.

The company that does PDI in the port is an independent contractor for PCNA. You can try contacting them directly or ask your dealer to do so. Ask them point blank why the car sat for 4 weeks. When my car was held last year due to the EPA fiasco, my sales guy was calling the PDI company in Baltimore every day for me.

not an unreasonable assumption, but it could also be the way the park them up off the boat.
What if they have a storage facility where they put the first car off the boat at the back, the last at the front, and then they slowly load 'em onto the transporters from the front, then half way thru the loading process a new boat arrives, and all the new cars 'block in' your car, which now has to wait till the new arrivals are transported off and out of it's way.
That could explain why your car sat around while a newer one got out first.
