Default 10,000 miles

it drizzling on monday morning in san francisco.
as i drove the GT3 to work, i glanced down on the odometer and it just rolled from 9,999 to 10,000 miles :-) eleven months of driving fun, not a problem with the car other than occasional rattles on the driver side door panel.

drive in good health and keeping piling on the miles.

Was the dealer able to fix the rattles? Mine had the same problem.

Default 11,000 miles and going strong

Hi Guys,

I have 11,500 miles and going strong. I had some minor noises here and there (windshield, door, etc) which seems to respond to a good dousing with teflon spray. Usually it disappears for several weeks to months.

I'm up to 7,000 miles, a full 3,000 of those have been 'on track'.
This car really rules, I just love it to pieces, it is such a dependable, reliable and easy to use track star. It is perfect for a habitual speeder like who has taken his addiction to the track.
I love my dealership too, best service experience of any machine I've owned!
All in all I am one very, very happy customer!!

Have them look at the clips that hold the door panel to the door. I have seen these break before and cause a rattle that almost seems metallic in sound.

That's what I like to see, true enthusiasts that actually drive their GT3s...

I had to take mine in after putting on 800+ miles in 3 days of ownership. Front sway bar link came loose, headlight connection also came loose and there were some loose screws in the rear passenger side behind the panel. (Mine must have built on a Friday afternoon...) All fixed now. Drove it down to Santa Barbara and back this weekend. Over 1,600 miles now and no problems.

Holger,

I finally used locktite (Blue) on my sway bars, they came loose twice.

I asked the dealer about whether it could use some loctite and they said that it was a common problem and that retorqueing it should be fine. If it happens again it's getting some loctite for sure.

Also just rolled over 10k miles at the Monterey Historic Races a few weeks back, now have 11,300 miles. Not a single problem yet....other than the bloody splitter which really needs to be replaced after the last trip. Maybe the fact that it was lowered another 10mm during the last corner weighting wasn't a good idea

I now carry a bag of spare plastic rivets in the boot for the front splitter...definately recommend picking one up, it's only $6. Every day or so on the trip I inspected the front splitter and found either one about to fall out or missing.

rsnodgrass, i have noticed there are two type of rivets (i assume you are talking about the one's holding the black strip of chin spoiler). the one that came with the car is "insert and push", those falls off often. later my dealer gave me some that are "insert and screw in with phillip screw driver" those never come off on me. sorry i don't know the part number.
