No! Either the car wasn't aligned right or who ever drove it was afraid to push it in the corners. There is no way that a regular C6 Corvette is faster that a GT3 around any course. I have driven Z06s at horsepower tracks, and the GT3 is faster. It should only be about 2 seconds slower than an RS IMHO.

Default The GT3 time is on Wet track!!! That's why!

The track was wet that day, watch that episode and you will know. In dry it will come around to RS and 360 CS.

Wet track lap times are useless. I don't know why they bother. The G forces for cornering are reduced so much more than for acceleration and braking that it turns into a point and shoot contest. The GT3 will lose that one to higher torque & HP cars every time. Why the RS did so well may come down to tires or shorter gears, but I am only speculating here.

Default remember this is mass market entertainment,

and not really an accurate or scientific measure of a car's ability.

The 'tests' are done over a wide period of time, using different drivers ('The Stig' is not one man) and have to embrace the vast array of English weather too.

I think that the difference between the GT3 and the RS is about 90% in the tires. I know that some here like the OEM Piot Sport 2's, but I honestly think it is a very poor tire for the car, and have said it many times here. When you swap to MPSCups you will pick up so much speed due to the incredible degree of increased stability that these tires have, not to mention all the extra grip of the soft R compound. The difference is night and day, I honestly felt I had a whole new car at a track I know really well.

My guess is that a GT3RS, same driver, same track, same day etc, will only have a tiny fractional gain over a standard GT3 wearing MPSC's, that will come from the small weight saving, and the slightly altered suspension. I would also venture that a standard GT3 wearing JRZ's and MPSC's will beat a stock GT3RS anywhere.

Among the other things mentioned that GT3 test was in the WET. THe 360 CS and RS were in the dry.

Yep CGT is tops, and the GT3 should apparently have around 4 secs off the time for a dry lap....how old is this list then?

The C6 in it will be featured this Sunday in Top Gear TV show, and the Ford GT was 2 weeks ago, so its up to date but not complete.

The times on the list are as current as of the last test of that particular car. Some are fairly old but the ones at the top are fairly current. When the GT3 time was done it was very near the top -- even with a wet time. I'd imagine there are several factors affecting times here and they are definitely subjective.

Noone should be allowed to compare corvettes to real sports cars after this...

Downloading that show now, thanks.
