Default Theft recovery GT3 for sale

As most of you remember, our speed yellow gt3 was stolen, and eventually recovered. The car is currently for sale at our dealership. The car was yellow, is now blue. Black leather, yellow seatbacks and belts, yellow guages, PCCB, thick steering wheel. msrp is 117,xxx. the car has about 2000 miles on it now, and has some damage. We would rather a rennlist member who needs a track car/project car get this, as opposed to ebay. Please make me an offer, $65,000 buys it now. I can supply all Repair orders, etc. to anyone seriously interested in the car.

The car is for sale As Is. Call me or email me with offers or questions.

Thanks!

Wow, what a club racer that would make. If only I had $65,000 laying around.

Alfie, I'm really happy to hear you got it back, how did it get found, and are the thieves in jail?

I just wish I had the spare $$$ as I'd love to go to work on it. Good luck with the sale.

Please describe "some damage." Is it cosmetic or more substantial?

Alfie,

I see that this car was listed on Ebay as described in the other thread. A couple of questions for you.

1) The car was stolen back in March. I would presume that your dealership has already collected the insurance money for this car. If so, wouldn't the insurance company own this car and if it were ever titled wouldn't it receive a salvage title?

2) $65K is just way too much for this car, with 17K in mechanical damage and $25K in body/cosmetic damage, once fixed this car would have a value of between 70-75K, so if you deduct $42K off that the car would come in around $33K. I appreciate you wanting to see a Rennlist member get this car as opposed to someone on Ebay, but respectfully the price seems WAY off, probably why there were no bids at $59K on Ebay. Are you willing to consider a more "reasonable" offer in light of feedback from this site?

3) A couple of pictures seem to indicate that this car may have been in water at one point. Is that the case? Can you describe for us in more detail what has happened to this car?

I'm not opposed to taking this car on as a project car and doing a restoration project on it, perhaps for an article feature, etc. but right now I think we are way too far apart to make that happen and there are too many open remaining questions about the title, condition, history, etc.

If you don't want to respond publicly I understand, feel free to PM me and we can continue the conversation.

It's a real pi$$er that a car such as that goes down the tubes that way.
How the hell did they steal it in the first place. I thought these cars are supposed to be unstealable unless you either get the keys or lift it.

For those of you who didn't see it. I think this is Alfies poor car (correct me if I am wrong Alfie):
