Default Implausible PIWIS numbers

I have an 04 GT3 with a problem starting/idling. Piwis is giving crazy numbers I.E. 20+ degree cam deviation at idle and sometimes, not always 0 at a high idle.
Pulled it and verified cam timing is correct. Replaced sensors and rings on intake cams . Checked wiring and nothing found.
Anyone experience a bad DME causing this?

I had a similar issue many years ago - had been out driving the car for 5+ hours, then sitting in traffic idling, it died on me. Upon restart, the idle was extremely high (3k+ RPMs) and rough, plus it would only run for 3-5 seconds followed by several codes.
My shop spent over a week on it until they discovered my DME was failing to load the throttle driver(s). We were luck to source a replacement DME (from Todd at Protomotive), and I haven't had a problem in 15K miles since.

I had problems with the oil containment rings on my 6Turbo, the intake cam timing was wandering all over. I posted a thread a couple years ago in the 6TT forum.
