Added a GT2 (still prefer the GT3)

Thousands in the gt3 and only hundreds in the gt2. Your point is a fair one, and the gt2’s speed/torque is tons of fun, but I think the gt3’s edge on rawness and handling is why I prefer it. I’m an NA fan overall I guess.

Long GT2 trips
Really enjoying this discussion, having never driven a GT3 but enjoying an '03 GT2 for 19 years and counting (I want to die with it, not in it. ) Was on this forum years ago as CarpYourDiem, just love the car on long and short trips!
I've done interstate GT2 travel in the west. Observations:
-The low front lip and front overhang: On our usual routes near our homes, we quickly form a plan to deal with the known dips and high spots. Traveling in foreign lands, especially in traffic, there can be a few "awkward moments" as we creep sideways through a surprise situation. Mine is still OEM, but there have been a few moments...
-Really love the light produced by the high beams...prolly the same as GT3.
-A/C is outstanding...
-Cupholder always feels flimsy but ain't broke yet
-Interior noise isn't kwazy, but noise-cancelling headphones and ear buds really help for music and audio books/podcasts. "Yes, officer...but rally car drivers wear headphones in the transit stages sir."
-I usually travel via motorcycle and backroad passing is "anywhere, anytime"...same in the GT2. "Very...um...safe, sir...less time at risk, sir." I'm in Colorado at 5000 feet and highly value forced induction.
-But what really surprises me: Even when "rolling right along" on backroad journeys, the onboard diagnostics reveal 26 to 28 mpg! Take the same trip at the same velocities in my 992 Carrera S and it returns 21. Weird, no? Three liter eight speed turbo gets 21, 3.6 liter six speed turbo gets seven mpg higher. If a person could find the discipline to drive the speed limit on a freeway, I'm thinking 30 mpg. Certainly not the reason we buy a GT car, but a pretty cool bonus! God bless Hans Mezger!
-Finally, there's trepidation in leaving it in a motel parking lot overnight, etc...but pulling a fuse or two, using a Kryptonite steering wheel lock...and parking intelligently have worked so far. So many expensive cars and trucks these days, the old Porsche is hopefully well down the list of cars to steal.
Fun subject...and I'm off on a 1600 mile GT2 trip next week...

Nice post! I find the gt2 more comfortable. definitely quieter. Passing is easier! The share the headlights, ac, and other interior accoutrements, so may similarities of course. Oh yeah, front lip clearance definitely worse in the 2. It ain't good in the 3 either (particularly with the cup lip), but its even lower on the gt2. I've already scraped like 5-6 times. Perfect roadtrip car!
