GT3 US production increased ???

Tough to tell if the GT3 will be worth anything in a few years.
Sure production is up a little higher, but 700 or 900 is probably too many for "classic status". I have no doubt that they will be more prized than standard 996's and will have migh greater value, but to ever be worth more than when new? Probably not. You would probably need something the 30-50 cars total made for this to be true. That said I agree that there are ALOT of track/Autocross guys just waiting the USED GT's (GT2 & GT3) Get into their price range!

I agree they'll never be worth more than new unless you take one brand new and put it in a bubble.
On the other hand, I do think they will hold their value much better than any other 996 as most of the cars will be tracked and driven hard. Let's face it, a lot of these cars are going to get wrecked. If experienced drivers are getting in trouble with them then the average and novice drivers are going to get into bigger trouble. I think a fair estimation would be that maybe 200-300 cars will either be wrecked or spanked pretty heavily on the race track within the next 10 years. There will also be cars that are used as daily drivers that will have over 100,000 miles on them in that time. These engines weren't built for longevity so those cars will be very devalued although probably good buys in the used car market.
All this only helps to raise the values of the approx. 400-500 remaining cars (from 900 estimated total) that some people will baby and drive on weekends and maybe take to a DE event once in a while.
*Disclaimer: I don't suggest babying a GT3 and I think they should be enjoyed in whatever manner the owner sees fit.

Here's an example of a perfect 100 point car that was put away in a bubble at 12,000miles.
1991 M3 original price $36,000
Approx 5100 cars produced 1988-1991
Valued today at $36,000-$40,000
There are worthy comparisons with the GT3. The M3 has reached cult car status and has a rich racing history (as the winningest touring car in history), It's a homologation special of somewhat limited production and many cars have been wrecked, turned into club race cars and/or driven into the ground.

i have a new company idea. i'm going to start an "intervention" service. friends of an afflicted soul can pay to have one of my people come out to the afflicted's home and beat a clue into them with a baseball bat . this guy with the M3 should be one of the first customers

Actually it's my car. See, I have a few others that get exercised so putting one away for posterity wasn't such a hardship.
P.S. Yes, the Black one is a genuine Sport Evo. That one is owned by a local buddy of mine.

E3
Sorry not for sale
BTW - that is only part of ringmeister's collection.
The Sport Evo has been kicked out and sent back to my parents with arrival of my GT3 on Saturday.

I really don't think Porsche would want to make the GT3 less unique in such of way of increasing production to that large of an amount. Perhaps it's just a rumor. at least I hope... Not to worry, I'm sure all of your GT3s will hold their value firmly and will always be a great Porsche milestone
