Any floating rotors available for Steel brakes GT3?

possibly for the front...Steve Weiner from http://www.rennsportsystems.com/ may be able to help...I think there is a problem with floating hats for the rear because of the E-brake drums...

Hi :
Currently, we have a 360mm x 33mm full floating Alcon slotted front rotor that is a professional grade component. These are direct replacements for the stock steel or PCCB rotors with the existing calipers. You can e-mail me for some pictures and further information.
Under development are 350mm x 32mm drilled full-floating Alcons for the front and rear that will retain full E-brake functionality.
Please remember that cast iron rotors are NOT all the same and OEM grade ones are nowhere near as durable as real racing rotors,...

What sort of costs involved with the direct replacement floating disk?
Will it use the standard caliper and pad?
What are the advantages? Weight?
Is this likely to stop the cracking of the front rotors I am experiencing at the moment?

I would guess that using a larger than stock Alcon 2 piece rotor for the front 360mm vs. 350mm stock would be okay?
How much for the front Pagid RS-19 or RS-29 pads and Alcon rotors?
How long do you think it will take to get a PCCB replacement rear Alcon rotor?
you can send my an email if you like, my brakes are squeaking already.

I do not have the final costs yet on the rear ones. The process of marrying the Alcon to the Factory rear hub not as simple as it might appear,..
. Yessir, we retain the stock pad sizes since the calipers are not changed. The main advantages are durability and a little weight over the stock iron ones.

The current slotted Alcon we are using is an already available model that is slightly larger than stock. The upcoming drilled ones will the exact same size as stock. The current slotted Alcon is slightly larger in diameter than stock and is 1mm thicker. I'd be happy to send you a pic if you wish and these work just super with your GT-3 calipers & pads.
We are working very diligently on the rears,.....
As mentioned above, the engineering is taking some time. Very soon tho.

Steve sent me the picture of the slotted one's and they rocks.
I will def. purchase the set of rotors (don't know yet which version drilled or slotted) and pads to him.

A floating rotor design is usually lighter than a solid rotor design. In theory they're also cheaper once you've bought in as you'd replace just the ring rather than the ring and the hat.

Also, I believe the hats are usually made of a material with a lower conductivity for heat, so as to transfer less heat to the bearings, hub, etc. The GT3 Cup cars, which are designed to mostly run sprint races (less than 90 minutes), use steel rotors with no problem. However, the RSR's, which are designed for 24 hour endurance races, use a floating hat rotor.

Interesting and good reasons, though so far, these only support the need for aluminum hat/iron rotor designs. Anyone have photos or descriptions of floating hat systems? I am interested because I am in the process of changing my car to floating rotors to deal with knockback. I already started with alum hat./iron rotor and the system is adding floating bushings a the bolts. The hat will be firmly mounted and the rotor floats realative to the hat.
And I am still curious if the GT-3 has knockback problems.
