GTGTGT:

Congratulations.

The 996 has a proven 16% drivetrain loss. From the 1999 C2 running 250~ rwhp to the 3.6 C4S runnning 272~ rwhp.

350rwhp is something around 408Hp.

That is great news! I have a question about what companies like Europipe, Powerchip, Cargraphic, Fabspeed, etc. post. They always show a benchmark and starting point of 380 crank hp and then show a gain from that point. If these motors are really producing more hp - could these companies be using the conservative Porsche numbers to assist themsleves in showing improvements?

Has anyone dynoed and then re-dynoed their cars to see a true difference?

Rockitman - have you re-dynoed?

Default Relationship between Power and Torque

Fyi, if you know RPM and Power you can calculate Torque, or, obviously, if you know RPM and Torque, you can calculate power. Relationship and conversion constants are as follows:

(Torque in Newton-Meters)*RPM/9840 = Power in KW

1 Newton-Meter = 0.7376 lb-ft

1 HP = 745.7 Watts = 0.7457 KW

It is interesting to calculate the torque from your HP graphs (a little EXCEL spreadsheet work will do it...)

FWIW...350rwHP with a 16% drivetrain loss equals 417HP by my calculation

The way you look at converting rwhp to flywheel, is to consider that 350rwhp is 84% of a number.

350rwhp /.84% = 416.66 HP You can go back wards to check 416.66 x .84
