Default MCS suspension

Hi,

I recently picked up gen 1 MCS 2 way suspension with compression and rebound adjustments for my 996 turbo.

Current setup:
150 PSI front and rear canisters
700# springs in front
900# springs in back
compression, 12 in front, 12 in rear
rebound, 15 in front, 16 in rear.

The car is setup primarily as a track car. Rear wheel drive with a guards LSD pushing about 600 wheel HP at 1.5 bar. When at speed it feels a little soft / bouncy in the the turns when there are undulations. Is anyone familiar or have suggestions with MCS suspension settings?

Thanks! Karim

Spring rates seem pretty low for those type of shocks

Thanks! I was actually thinking of bumping it up to 1000 in the rear at 800 in the front.

I have the same car with JRZ RS pros. I started off with the 800/1000 and had that same effect. I then went to 225/250 tenders and 1000/1200 and the car responded much better. Don’t be afraid to run high spring rates as the shocks are designed for them 👍

Thanks for your response! I was just told that if I was to increase spring rates over 1000 pounds then I would have to put a full cage in rather than the current seat belt bolt on harness roll bar currently installed. I guess the body of the car will begin flex too much risking glass break and car destruction etc. So as a compromise I was thinking of increasing canister pressure then try to dial in compression and rebound settings, which I am unsure of. (Canister pressures, compression and rebound for both front and rear). I am not ready to put a full cage in. Have you heard of these issues?

You’re the first person I’ve heard being up that concern. I’ll tag @powderhound John Sellinger. If someone would know about that issue, he would.

Have never heard of that issue. I have run 1100 rates in the rear with just a techquipment bar which adds no rigidity to the chassis as it mounts to the seatbelt holes. The 996 GT3/turbo chassis is already plenty stiff especially compared to other 20 year old vehicles out there.
