need help: 996 GT3 Cup Pirelli Supercup Season 2000
Hello you all, although being a longtime (and very thankful) recipient of all the special knowledge on Rennlist, I have only now finally registered.
Let me introduce myself: I am a life long Porsche enthusiast and did various documentation projects, at first on existing 1/43rd scale models, from there
moving on to 1:1 cars. Latest and biggest priject is the chassis history documentation of all Porsches ever raced, built by or fielded for customers by Manthey-Racing.
This started out with the early 2000´s MR builds and then evolved to sort of a "global view." Writing this, I have become the "part-time" Manthey archivarian / historian.
I would like to ask for your help on the whereabouts of three cars fielded (or rather technically serviced) by Manthey-Racing in the 2000 Porsche Porsche Pirelli Supercup season.
The cars in question were of course 996 GT3 Cup, driven by Sascha Maassen (#10, Eschmann-Manthey Racing), Patrick Huisman (#9, Eschmann-Manthey Racing)
and Bernd Mayländer (#8, Porsche Zentrum Koblenz). Nobody in our company remembers much of those early days, Manthey-Racing was then existant for only
four years and the small stuff was busy racing instead of keeping records.
Apparently, all three cars were immediately sold after the season´s last races (Indianapolis double header on 23rd/24th September) and then trailered right from
the racetrack. Maasen´s and Huisman´s cars might have been WP0ZZZ99ZYS698035 and 36.
Does anyone of you have a clue who might have been the respective buyer and how the stateside story of these cars continued?
I would be grateful for ervery litte hint or research idea. Thanks a lot!
