Arling,
What makes it "not as good?"
All,
Would changing this piece require an adjustment of the rear wing...to keep the car balanced?

Good point on balance, INcreased downforce in front without an equal degree of increased downforce in back could cause issues, no?
I personally like the look of a bigger spoiler lip.

Three Wheelin'
sorry for the late reply guys.
the material (or finish) is different between them. i might have chance to take some close up pics of them tomorrow. i'll post later.
wait to see the pics. anyway, both are OE parts but the one came with the car looks more refined, both the fit & finish. also, the motorsport one doesn't come with double sided tape on them.
on more thing, when ordering, make sure to get 2 bags of clips because u'll need 5 more clips to secure the entire lip if u only get 1.

When I had the motorsport lip spoiler replaced they used bolts with washers not the rivets that came originally. Even the 15 rivets holding that spoiler you run the risk again of having it fly off. I think the idea behind having something like rivets holding the spoiler is to protect the front fascia from damage if you hit something against the spoiler. That way the force is not transmitted to the front fascia. I figure if I hit something that hard, the front fascia would be damaged anyway.
Foreign Affairs, where I had the motorsport lip put on, uses even more bolts for the race car lips. Probably twice as many so they almost are touching continuously around the edge of spoiler.

Lon - I looked at my GT2 parked next to my wife's '3' and your lip spoiler looks just like the GT2 version. I will try and get the part number to compare. For the heck of it I measured the ground clearance from the spoiler to the ground. GT2 3.5 inches, GT3 5 inches. No wonder the '2' scrapes more!
I adjusted my wing tonight. What a pain in the a$$. The '3' is a lot easier than the GT2. I went from 6 degrees to about 2. I don't want to to that again soon.
