Default Deleting SAI from M96.79

Anyone have experience with this and care to share some details? Easy enough to just pull everything and look for where block-off plates may be needed. And I'm not worried about CEL's, but want to be sure there are no negative side-effects.

There is zero side effects having it.. It helps warm up the cats and keep them clean during the rich zone after starting in cold weather.
If its the cost,, fwiw its the same one that much cheaper off a VW...

Worst side effect I can think of,,,,, I would hate to have a full time check engine light so you couldn't tell if something else has gone sideways..

Not a matter of cost, more of simplicity and lightness. I'd code it out so not concerned about CEL, car is track only and gets scanned regularly.

What else have you done to lighten the car?

Do you recall the equivalent VW p/n? Mine appears to have gone bad & would prefer not to shell for OEM.

Stripped the A/C
Stripped most of the interior
Fibreglass engine lid
Electric power steering (not so much removal of weight as re-positioning)
Would live to go to carbon hood doors and fenders but $$$

FWIW, what I figured out is the following.

The current SAI pump P/N is 99760510402, this supercedes 99760510401 and 99760510400, both of which interchange with the current part. All of these appear to actually be made by a domestic vendor called SKP. Somewhat amusingly, this same part shows up in period Chevrolet trucks/etc with a different plug. There is no reason to pay 10x the price for the OE part.

Anyway, there appears to be a fair bit of NOS 99760510400 leftover on eBay for $70, so I am going to start there. Otherwise, I would have no qualms about buying the SKP part, which is SKAP913064

Cheers.
