Video of lap at Thunderhill

Mike,
There's so much to be had on that track it isn't funny. The few times you get pro level talent out there you see what numbers are really possible. I think Johannes was in the 1:56 range on a 100% stock GT2 for a magazine test last year. 1:50 flat is where the Radical, even with the small engine I have will shake out. (Note, I am not saying I have a chance in hell of doing that........1:54's on dead tires last week was quite entertaining, and Tony almost taking the car off in 9 made him bring the car in.) Look what Rylan can do with his gutted out stock-engined S2000 on slicks--2:02, and supposedly in the 1:58 range with some pro-level guy I'm not familar with.
Anyway, heard you had one of my friends as an instructor at Buttonwillow. Kind of confused me since I didn't think GGR would make someone like you have a ride along!
But you guys with GT3's have something special, and if you get comfortable hammering them hard you will be able to run really close to a lot of full on race cars.

Great lap Mike, Is 3rd too tall for turn3 thru 6? It seems like your at the top of 2nd, sometimes you can carry more speed with greater car control in a little taller gear even though it may not feel that way.

I will try that next time, Jim, I think you may be right. I remember being redlined at several ackward points on the lap, before the braking for 6, before the exit of 6, before the braking for 8, and before the exit of 15. In all these cases I was breathing the throttle slightly to reduce or avoid the rev limiter. Also, there was an ackward short shift in the 12/13 complex, a better place for a shift in this section might help too.
