Default How tight to tighten hose clamps?

Usually I tighten them just enough that it feels right, but given how much work it is to drop the engine and the limited access to the clamps, I want to make sure I dont have to go back in to tighten a loose clamp.

good ?

I used a socket and TQ wrench.
See how 12 / 24 INCH pounds feels to you.
Try loosening a factory clamp and see what it was torqued to.
a deflecting beam in / lb tq wrench comes in handy for this.

You're right good is a poor descriptor. Good means tight enough that the rubber starts to crown down due to tension from the clamp.

Thanks for the tip on inch pounds. I have the right wrench and will check it out.
