Yes they will...if your not careful. It's a resin epoxy over the CF mesh so it should be better than the plastic, but since it's glossy, scratches may show up better...

Carbon scuffs, aluminum sills are lighter than the plastic...

Thanks Larry, when you let yourself Really think of justifing such an expenditure it's nice to be reasurred But who really know? Sure hoping for minimum production numbers. Anyone else care to chime in?
The one I ordered is $106,4xx.
I too tried to keep it basic.
Could have taken it home tonight, but it Snowed again, that means no driving from dealer until sands are gone & Stone / Amourfend applied.

Where can you get aluminum? Factory offers carbon or stainless steel.

my 2 cents...
Personally i like stripper cars but that does not mean that i would order one.
in fact if i were to order a GT -3 it would have a bunch of options
Special paint (either Gulf Blue or Sunnoco Blue)
Full leather w/stiching everywhere in color
lid's, cruise, thicker wheel, etc.

If i were buying off the used market i would again look at all of the cars (even PCCB cars since the switch is realitively cheap)
but i would give no real increase in value to highly optioned cars - the prices should be similiar in the end after negociation.
i am of the mind that options don't add much to the re-sale of the car.
while i belive they will hold strong value i don't see them in the same class with 73' RS's yet (some day but not now) since there will probably be another version in the states every 5 years or so.

to prevent scuffs (or at least make them repariable) i would add an additional layer or 2 of clear coat - then buff as needed or just replace

Cupcar: Special paint is not available on the '04 GT3. Nor will Porsche paint a car in Gulf Blue as a friend discovered a couple of years ago when he ordered a paint to sample 996 C2 in Gulf Blue and Porsche wouldn't do it.

This is a little off the subject, but I was just checking into this Forum and started reading some of the newer replies... AND...

Rockitman - your GT3 Gallery is outstanding!!!!!

And BTW - CONGRATULATIONS - your are the 50th Rennlist Cover ( https://rennlist.com )

Yea - I probably should have asked first - but, well - you know - it's about time a street GT3 was shown (I think the photo should be OK to use with the Porsche folks as well - or I hope so!!!)

Great Gallery!!!

Not only that, the resin epoxy can be damaged. I have two nice chips on my passenger side CF sill.

Wow John!!!! I am very honored...

This is a complete surprise and certainly brings a smile to my face...

I look forward to meeting you at the Hershey Swap meet as I will be driving the GT3 down to meet up with a Saturday morning NJ caravan...

Best Regards,

Christian

Congrats to Rockitman (and his GT3) for their choice as Rennlist cover.

As a new GT3 (almost) owner, your posts, along with many others, have been invaluable in building my GT3 database. Many Thanks!
