Unhappy To the black GT3 on Willow Road near Northbrook, IL

You gotta acknowledge fellow porkers on the road man. I don't know if you thought I was trying to race you (me in a C2, you in a GT3.. ) but all I wanted to do was acknowledge what you were driving with a thumbs-up.

<RANT>To the GT2/GT3 crowd: You guys are driving the ultimate driving machines (sorry bmw) that are the dreams of many a p-car owners. There's almost an obligation that you acknowledge the thumbs up, waves, etc. of a fellow p-car owner who is excited at the sight of these rare and awesome machines.</RANT>

Now I'll go crawl back to the 996 board.

here lies the issue. like dog owners only like their own breed... Porsche is so big now, it's no longer one community... to some

personally, i really need the upcoming Porsche 4 door sedan, for my wife, and so dont fault them building a truly superior truck. i just don't need one, as the extra 1/2 inch of ground clearance on a GT3, vs. a GT2, gets me through the violent malibu winter.

It's been my observation, and is nothing personal to the true enthusiasts that drive these vehicles, but drivers of SUVs and cabriolets never flash whether I initiate or or not. Actually, most of my driving is in the canyons where I rarely see these cars anyway, with most of the Porsches being 996 turbos.

watt,

So then I guess that we should expect that you will be back into another GT3 to handle the violent malibu winter of 2005?

I always try to give the thumbs up or wave to other P-Car owners, even Boxsters and cabs. Lots of hot chickies in those things here in LA.

Flash SUVs, that's a good question, as I believe *most* Cayenne drivers belong to a different demographic. But if they wave, I wave.

Winter 2005? that could be 4 cars from now... how would i know, maybe i can raise the GT2 for winter and put stock wheels on

Noel,

Your point is well taken, but Jack drives his Cayenne TT up Stunt on poor days; so the GT2 won't get dirty. Tyson would drive his as well but he has a "Lincoln M5 Samoan Body Guard Special" for bad weather

I drive the WRX on poor days - surprisingly almost every other WRX driver gives the nodd or left indicator. Jack and Tyson are true enthusiasts, they don't just flash, they stop and chat.

hahah, maybe there are just too many porsches in LA. i must admit that i will make an effort to be polite if she is cute

with regards to suv's, i am still p*ssed that the pursuit of profits has driven porsche to build cars for the soccer-mom crowd. it's just a different demographic IMO...

Pfffft!
You 911 boys don't have much room to talk.
I was about 0/30 for waves from 911's. I even got some "WTF?" looks.
I don't think half those folks even know a 944 is a porsche.

I never wave anymore unless I see some indication that the driver is an enthusiast.

I'm lucky to see one 911 or Boxster every two weeks in good weather. Passed some hot Babe behind the wheel of a Cayenne one day and I too was in my C. I gestured, she did not. I think her sugar daddy bought the car for her and told her to behave!!! Heh heh...About a week ago a C4S passed me while I was in my C on the Interstate. I looked and he did not...My next thought was how I would have ripped him a new a$$ hole had I been in my GT3.... :-)
