Default High brake pedal issue

Wondering if anyone else has had this issue.

In inconsistent situations, I find my brake pedal higher than normal. Seems like it's the brake zone after a brake zone where I would hard trail brake to the left. The result is I can't reach the gas pedal to rev match/downshift while braking.

I don't feel ABS kick in, which would potentially cause the pedal to kick up. That was my first thought, though.

Thoughts?

Is the brake pedal higher or could it be the accelerator is actually lower?

Is the brake pedal the same height as the clutch?

Good question. When I go for the throttle, when I'm not trying to heel toe, it's there. If it's a 1/2 inch off, I can't tell. Might have to figure out how to point a camera at the pedals while on track.

Well, my car's brake pedal is highest when I really bleed the brakes; ie, take a lot of fluid out under high(er) pressure (via the Motive unit) - that is my preference FWTW but I H/T a bit differently than most in my experience (brake mid sole, tap toe over the top of the brake pedal to the top of the go-pedal).

Re a change of pedal pressure height issue, I wonder if it could be some small amount of air trapped either in the MC, lines, or caliper (as any time my pedal height lessens its time to bleed, for me at least)?

Maybe really bleed them hard under pressure wasting a bunch of fluid and see if that fixes it (I know when I am good when - at last - very small bubbles, they look like grains of sand in the tubing, appear)?

That should result in a repeatable pedal position unless there is an underlying problem with the system/ABS ... (altho that might also end up with a high brake pedal position pad dependent - so not sure if that is a good end result for you/what you want)...

On the old cars you could adjust the brake rod. Have a 911SC where a DE instructor took it upon himself to do that very thing to a car I now own. The previous owner who is a friend said the guy was bitching about heel and toe. I think the DE guy was FOS and had no right to make that kind of adjustment to suit him. I guess you can get used to anything but a lot of pedal travel is scary.
Early on in my ownership before addressing the issue I recall anyone who drove the car with me in it were shocked the 1st time they hit the brake and the pedal travelled a long way before it worked.
With the rod adjusted to "where it should be" I have no problems with heel and toe and it's very comforting to push the brake and get a response without going damn near to the floor.
Rennline make a fully adjustable gas pedal which is probably the easiest way to deal with this on the 996.
