I'm guessing you guys are all on about some Euro only model, because I also checked with my dealer, and he could find no info about any GT3 derivatives coming to the USA, and there also has been no official extension to the GT3 build as suggested at the top of the post. Doesn't mean it won't happen, but as of now there is nothing anywhere suggesting this.

No, it's supposed to be a secret. And only 20 are coming to our little island anyway.

I hope it does happen, though a lot of people who thought they'd got the ultimate hardcore 996-the GT3RS-will be pissed off. They are extending the GT3 RS allocation here to 109 to accommodate some customers too.

I am so sick of you guys in the Uk getting all the good cars. We should have let the germans have your Island in WW2 the big one (just kidding).

If it's the GT3 RSR, you won't be driving it on the street. It's a track only car.
Thought that car was already out this year???

I'm guessing they're referring the a road going version of that beast... Make the 996 go out with a bang!

In the UK it seems if it has 4 wheels, headlights and a place to mount license plates you can register a vehicle.

Just what I want - a street car with an engine that requires a rebuild after every 30 hours of use! These rumours of a street version of the RSR seem ridiculous to me. How much farther than the GT3 RS can they really go and keep the car streetable?

It is indeed a road going version, as I have said not sure what it's based on, nobody does except the guys who are building it. I doubt it will be the RSR race car with cats and whatever else needed to make it street legal, as(again, as I've said before) the race version is over double the cost of what the street version will be.

Steve in FL,

Here in the Uk, you don't even need 4 wheels on your car for it to be road legal. the only stipulation is that you must posses a broad set of shoulders, and a strong sense of humour. Other than that, it's open season
