Mac, I agree with Bob, try adjusting your pressures to see if you can improve handling. You may be amazed at the difference it makes.

You are right about the high maintenance...Perhaps these are a better choice...What do you think the approx. cost for a set??? High $3,000's???

macfly,

I would also support the comments about tire pressures. Bob R. in Montreal suggested to target 40 lbs. hot all the way around, and at Sears point last Friday my GT2 was quite predicatble. I did have to let air out of the rear tires on multiple occasions, especially as my times dropped. I started cold at 34/36 lbs.

Given a choice, I would now go for the K58's. Either way you will not go wrong. High $3's sound about right. Give Wheel Enhancement a shout on prices or call Kinesis direct. Would you be sticking with the same size wheels?

Definately staying with 18's. The reverse lip option that extends the wheel centers gives the effect of 19's, but with the physics of the 18's which I would want to keep from a handling standpoint. The K58's seem the way to go..The brake calipers are more visible and accessible for cleaning, the spokes are easy to clean and maybe they are slightly lighter than the more complex wheel center's like the K28's. Now I just need to decide on color...Grey or black anodized.....

Black or Porsche silver to better contrast with Seal than the standard grey. I would be curious to know the weights of the K58's and K58r's in GT3 sizes. Should you call...

I have the std K58s and love them. They were made for my old car but fit with some big spacers. The problem was not an offset issue though because the front spokes hit my calipers. Not sure how they make them to fit the GT3 from stock unless they are have a thicker hub or they have more dish to them? Just double check with Wheel Enhancement and make sure they've fitted some to a GT3 before ordering. Also, if you ever think you might use them for track wheels don't get the Rs - from what I understand they are not recommended for that application, more for show.

I will check the weights out when I call. I think I will go with the black anodized (shot peened) with polished lips(alloy color) Shotpeened is the matte looking finish vs. the gloss..correct???

Thanks Bob...I hear the reverse lips are heavier too since the centers are bigger. I will take your advice and go with the standard lip. I hear they are easier to mount the tire on too. I will also check out the brake caliper clearence issue by calling Kinesis direct to find out questions of clearence and weight. I will post all relevent information....

Christian: You can get high quality light weight forged wheels with an annodized finish or with painted centers to match your car's exterior color from any of the three major custom wheel manufacturers -- Kinesis, Fikse or HRE. Pick the style/look you like the best and definitely call John or Dave at Wheel Enhancement (310-836-8908) for possible options and pricing.
