Are the original larger 996 GT3 ducts still available from Porsche? I picked up an extra used set I came across last year but still wondering if they are still made?

yup early riveted still available(same price as later 1 piece), believe technically they are Cup/GT2 ducts that Gt3's got later ...all the same fit/overall shape just 2 vs 1 pieces

Nice Rob! Any chance you could post some detail pictures of the 996 ducts once they are on the car? I'm running 997 ducts currently, but last weekend I saw a pristine 6-3 that had the original ducts and they do appear to be nicer. And much, much more expensive!

Its hard to see exactly how all that goes together from the parts book. It would be nice to see some pictures of the attachment detail of the duct onto the car if possible.

The large ducts attach exactly the same way to the thrust arm as the smaller ducts. I have a set of the larger lightly used 996Cup/GT2 ducts available if anyone needs a set. These are part number 996.341.117.90 and 118.90. I just switched to the smaller 997 ducts.

See post #34 for a comparison of the .90 and .91 ducts..

Will do! Might have some pics of the various sets of old ones Ive run before destruction lol...
They just clip on the thrust arms
From now on I plan on running 997 GT3 front ducts and continue with 997tt rear ducts for street, and swapping on the oe 996GT2 front ducts and adding on (in addition to the 7tt ducts) the 7GT2RS rear ducts for track

Here’s a pic of the cup ducts installed. They go on exactly the same as the oem GT3.

And for good measure, a pic of the GT2 rear ducts...

Curious to know why people are switching to the smaller 997 ducts? AFAIK only the riveted version came on cup cars. My previous road going GT3 had the one piece version like the ones pictured in your post above Rob. The cup (riveted) version is the largest. Somewhat of a consumable given how low they hang, thus I’ve stashed a couple of spare sets haha.

Hey Rob,
No. The large ducts do not work with the Motorsport uprights I'm running as the LCA on those attaches substantially lower (almost 2 inches lower), basically at the lower edge of the 380 front brake rotors. As such, the diagonal arm angles down which causes the large duct to divert air below the lower edge of the brake rotor rendering it useless. This is also the reason the 997Cup uses the smaller 997GT3 street duct vs the large duct on the 996Cup which uses the street GT3 uprights.

Here are pics of the smaller 997 front ducts. On a 6GT3/Cup I would use the larger ones. On the rear I would use the 997Cup ducts and the air guides that attach to the thrust arm. The air guides divert air to the caliper itself while the brake duct divert it to the rotor. You wlll also want the NACA duct in the belly pan. All parts are shared between the 7Cup and 7GT3 and available from the dealer. There are two different versions of the 7 rear brake ducts depending on which LCAs you have, standard or the forged versions.

This is excellent. The main reason I ask is because I bought the below parts (996.504.603.00/996.504.604.00) because they were part of the assembly in the parts book.

But I'm having difficulty figuring out where they go. I hope to get a picture of the ducts installed in someones car so I can understand where the hell these parts go. Its confusing in the parts book diagram and putting the part up to the car, I don't really see where it screws in...

Anthony those rubber scoops are used on the narrow body 996 C2/C4 but not on the 6-GT3. Same with the other rubber piece #4 in the diagram right above these. The diagrams for the wheel arch liners in the 6-GT3 parts catalog are not completely accurate.
