Default RS 4.0 LWFW kit from Suncoast

My stock clutch disc and pressure plate is due for a replacement so I think it's a good time to upgrade to single mass lightweight flywheel.

From my research the 997 4.0RS set up is the most preferred, Suncoast has a RS 4.0 kit but they state that the fitment is only for 2007-12 997GT3's.

I feel it should also fit my 04 based on my research. Can anyone confirm?

Thanks guys, The 4.0RS flywheel has extra material machined off to be even lighter than the normal 964RS flywheel, will this affect longevity? the car is tracked 4-6 times a year.

Also, is the 996RS aluminum pulley needed to balance things out?

it's technically a 964 cup part that was re-used as the factory flywheel in all the 3.8 and 4.0 RS cars. Given it was factory equipment in street cars i can't see there being an issue with longevity. I've personally had one in my car for over 6 years now without any issue and I track mine a fair bit.

Yes, get the appropriate light pulley at the same time. **edit** - don't forget the bolt for the pulley should be a single use bolt and there's a washer for the pully that sits on the crank that's diamond coated and needs to be supplied to for the aluminum pulley

These parts work well on a 04. Make sure you get the latest pressure plat - which is not in the Suncoast package - at least it wasn't.

On the Suncoast link not all parts are shown. Be aware that Sachs/ZF is not providing any Kit for 997 RS4.0
Parts are shown here: https://webcat.zf.com/?SPR=1
