Putting my motor together and found this:




Pretty sure that the last guys in here tried to undo the big nuts with the setup plates still installed...

I hope he found all the broken piece(s) before they were ingested...….. That would have needed a huge leverage on the wrench to break the steel end off !!
What do the other cam end pieces look like?

The other ends are ok, good enough to set cam timing.

Tommy: Not directly. Having to rebuild this motor was a blessing in disguise. The previous owners and the shop they used were complete idiots. Since EVERYTHING has been apart, there are no bits anywhere, nor have I found them. From the type of break, it was probably when they were taking things apart.

The rail is not looking good...however needs to be replaced anyway
Hopefully there are no more surprises like this...
