Default 2018 GT3RS - RING

If you haven't seen this yet, it's worth the watch. '18 GT3RS setting sub 7 min Ring time. Although the platform has evolved, the underlying driving is substantially similar. The video is an interesting and instructive example on how to get the most out of a GT3

One thing to note is the throttle application graphic. Virtually the entire lap illustrates a pretty consistent "binary" gas pedal approach - 1/2 throttle to full throttle, almost void of any "gradual" application of the go-pedal . IMO, this really is one of the key factors to getting 9/10ths+ out of a GT3. A second thing to note is the brake pedal trace in the heavy brake zones. Full braking to ~1/2 pedal under trail braking [which kinda looks inverse to the gas trace]. Then back to gas.

Turn it up! Porsche ponies sound sweet at WOT.

a pretty good example of either being hard on the brakes or full gas.

there were places where i was thinking, OK, i could see getting ready to accelerate soon, and this driver was full gas already for > a second or two.

LOL

It's fast...however several times over the limit of the car. Looks like video game driving but yes it's fast even when you know the Nordschleife like me...

Yeah, there is a new generation of Michelins that comes on the car N2 vs. N1 of the pre-facelift. However, the car in the vid had even more extreme tires that are called the R version. Supposedly quite a bit faster than those that come on the standard car.

I'm not sure if the R tires will eventually be an option one can order with the car or just be available from a dealer to retrofit after purchase. The rumor is that they are extremely expensive (like double the price of Hoosiers which are probably in the same general speed category)
