2002 vs 2004 GT2
Happy New Year everyone. It's nice to see '03 in the rear view mirror, eh?
I was wondering if someone would run down any differences between the 2002 MY and 2004 MY GT2's.

I know 2004's are rare. I wondered what changes were made between the car's introduction and now. Are you saying the only significant difference is availability? I thought I remembered reading somewhere that there were improvements to brakes and suspension.

About 20 more HP, the suspension has been "tweaked", supposedly is better...no one has commented what the specific changes are or if they can be made to to 02/03 cars, there is a little more cabon fibre available (rear wing) and the the price has gone up about $20K as well. Don't think the brakes were touched, but not sure.
In the real world, the price increase is probably much more, because there are supposedly "great steals" on 02/03s. Search these threads for more recent info.

04 GT 2, has in addition to what has been mentioned, new cylinder liners, new pistons, new rings,different from 01,02,03 GT2s. 04 also has reprogramed ABS, reprogrammed ECU. 04 GT2 has same wheels as found on 04 GT 3. If you so choose a no cost option is carbon fibre wing and side mirrors. Base price is 191,000.
