Default Clutch / Flywheel weights

Hi All,

Got some various parts laying around and thought I would share these weights with y'all

This is the OEM dual mass flywheel assembly, rather portly!

This is the LWFW assembly, 16lbs lighter than the stock part

And then we have the 7", 2 disk Tilton assemble (sadly not carbon, if someone wanted to send me one, I would be glad to check it out :-) ) 12 lbs lighter than the LWFW and a full 28lbs lighter than stock!

Good info. The LWFW you measured was the standard 996 one (11.5 lbs) or the 4.0L one...well actually 964 cup part (8.5 lbs) ?

Hi Andy,

This is the 964 flywheel, 996 clutch, and the RS 4.0l PP - a good mix

(and with the arrival of the Tilton AND the new bellhousing, I am selling )

I've got 4.0L 8.5lb flywheel, 4.0 PP and 996 RS clutch in mine already. Great combo.

I've driven the Tilton setup...you're going to love it for the track. I do a too much street driving still for that setup to be ideal for me.

I've had a Tilton in a previous car.. those are very nice setups. Mine was a triple carbon, so it was a bit maintenance intensive.. not sure if similar level of care is needed with the metallic ones, but the carbon ones are race car parts that need race car maintenance intervals.

Killer setup though, nothing better on track, can't wait to hear what you think of it. I really wanted a Tilton this go round, but the maintenance I went through on my other one made me shy away for now and go another route.

If anyone is interested, I'll get a weight on my RPS triple carbon with lightweight aluminum flywheel this weekend. It's also slightly smaller diameter than stock clutch, but not near as small as the Tiltons are.

Why not the 5.5" Tilton? Still more than enough holding torque yet even lighter.. I think the 5.5 is around 12lbs or even less.
