Default Anyone here installed an underdrive pulley?

Hi All, has anyone here installed an underdrive pulley on their GT3?

If so, how did you get the M16x15 Bolt off? ....is this another case of me not being forceful enough

yes use a breaker bar and it will come off...can also use an impact to get it off but not recommended...dont use the impact to put it on

Got it, for future info the torque setting from Porsche is 50Nm (37ftlb) initial (with locktite) then 90 degree turn tighter

It's a torque to yield bolt...so please insure you've sourced a new bolt for the new pulley. Also if you're using the aluminum RS pulley there's a tiny washer that's quite literally diamond plated that needs to go between the pulley and the crank snub....it's a paper thin washer that's like $50 but it needs to be in there.

There is a specific pulley holding tool that porsche uses in the shop that's pretty trick but expensive and difficult to get. As was stated put the car on the ground, put someone in the drivers seat standing on the brakes with the e brake set and it should come off with a breaker bar.

I also find it very useful to use an impact wrench (battery powered) to loosen bolts and nuts. Best tool if a nut sits on a shaft or bolt that can also rotate with the nut you are trying to remove.
But as you said, I dont recommend use to fasten.

No HP benefits but the car will rev quicker and there will be less drag on the PS pump etc. I have the EVOms pulley on mine.

I can't comment on fitting the pulley to my current GT3, but I fitted one to my Boxster S a few years ago.
Jake Raby (Flat 6) believed it added about 5 hp max to the engine (which I doubt you would feel) but the improvement was in the low / middle rev range where a quicker pickup could definitely be felt.
The nay sayers said that with the alternator turning over slower @ idle, you would discharge the battery in heavy traffic, but I never experienced that in 6-7 years of ownership.

That's weird... I've got an evoms pulley brand new in the plastic and it is only single pin.
