Default In the process of buying a 996 GT3 MK2!

Hey Guys!

New to the group, I did some searches and nothing really popped out...so I have a few questions and prob more coming!

- On a lowered car, what are you running as spacers for stock rims?
- What's the best/max tires you guys run on stock rims?
- Car comes with a factory RS wing, and I sort of like the original wing look better...so does the RS wing offer substantially more down-force?

Happy to be a part of the club!

Cheers!

If you like the stock rear wing and if rs wing is authentic sell to those who want it. People will pay a good price for a oem rs wing. Stock rims I could put Hoosier r6 315 rear/ 245 front. Could fit 255 r6 front too but not optimal for track. The 8.5 inch front with 255 front won't have a bigger contact patch ie won't track well. If you have high speed kinks on your local tracks rs wing makes it more planted vs stock wing. Hoosier r7's are the new tires so I assume they have equal sizes as r6's. Congrats. Hopefully you have pinned/welded coolant pipes plus stronger internals for the lsd already done. Pics of your 6gt3 or it ain't real : ). Congrats. What an awesome car for the track!!! Mike

No spacers needed on lowered car.
245 and 315 is max.
mpsc2 seem very capable for a see table tire.
RS wing is a valuable commodity. You will have zero problems selling for very good money.

Good luck on sealing the deal. They are wicked cars.

And lots of local knowhow. I'll be glad to share bits and pieces I have learned so far. With pleasure.

Cheers

Unless you are putting the car on the track the stock wheel setup should be fine. Lots of good tires to choose from. Also, as others mentioned an OEM RS wing is like a unicorn and I am sure you will find individuals that will pay you a nice price. I believe a new OEM RS wing costs around $8,000! Just make sure the wing is OEM since there are a lot of copies. Also, you are unlikely to notice a different with the regular wing vs. the RS wing unless you are on a race track.

Just picked her up!

I'm probably going to bring her back to a close to stock look.
