Question 996 Brake light fuse blowing

Hi - I have a 2000 Carrera 4 Cabrio that blows brake light fuses often and with no real pattern. Not related to heat/cold, season (California) or rain. It may go for months, with weekly driving, without bowing the fuse, then on one drive it will pop and keep popping at each replacement. If I park it a week or two it may or may not blow the fuse at next drive. I drive back roads mostly. The one time it has been almost consistent (two of three times) in blowing is about 25 miles into a freeway trip at constant highway speeds. I have replaced the brake light switch and checked the bulbs. The shop has found no issue, as fuse was OK when I brought it in.

I am the third owner. Don't know too much about the history other than the original owner had to replace the engine at about 20k miles, probably a bearing melt down.

Any ideas???
