Default Where is this suppose to go thread

so I just removed my crack wheel and going to take it into the shop to get the tire removed and mount to the new wheel.

right before I lay down the cracked wheel I saw a nut laying inside ?!

it is a 9mm or 11/32 with grip on one side. I looked around the brake components and didn't find anything loose or have missing nut. I traced up towards towards the suspension components and found nothing there either. Can anyone help me out?

also normally I don't mind having the car tilt one side for a day or 2. But is it bad for the car if I have the car tilt for 24 hours? Should have the wheel back on at this time tomorrow. The jack stand is under the left rear jacknpoint. The suspect

The grip part spins freely while attached to the nut

That doesn't look like a Porsche part to me. Just a random part from something else on your floor?

I don't see how having the car tilted would hurt anything for a short period of a few days. I'm sure these cars are allowed to be parked on hills

Memorial Day weekend we removed the wheels and did transmission fluid and brake fluid flush. That's when we first noticed the crack wheel.

Removed muffler and checked spark plugs then bolted everything back inplace. Drove 30 miles home some what spirited For a few miles.

Replaced both engine mounts a day later. Wheel not removed. I drove the car and get gas filled up about 5 miles. Got home cleaned up the wheel and got worried because the crack looks worse now it is clean.

So not sure what that nut would be. Could it stay in the wheel all this time? Didn't see scratches inside.

Looks like it might be a non standard nut, maybe dropped on the road and flicked up into your wheel well. Happens to me with rocks, they flick up and rest on the control/coffin arms.

I am leaning towards that its a random debris. I went under and checked stone guard, wheel well, brake, suspensions and then look at bank 1 of the engine and I dont see anything hanging loose or a bolt without a nut.

I looked over some diagram for brake and suspension and couldnt find any 9mm nut either... Unless someone can chime in, I may have to test drive and find out later tonight.

that's definitely the IMS retention nut; your IMS bearing is going to explode any minute without it

Ah man... I knew I should have gotten a 99 with dual row... if one row failed when I lose the retention nut the second row can help me limp to a shop right?

Check ur shorts to make sure you still have two?

That nut does not even resemble the hardware on these cars.
