Default Audio input on stock radio

I want to hook in an iPod into my stock 996 Becker radio. Have any of you out there done it? Is there a kit available aftermarket or from Porsche?

Thanks

Becker has an AUX input cable for older radios. You can not add any aux input devices on the MY03 on CDR23 (MOST Bus) radios.

Call Becker @ 1-888-423-3537 x1209
The kit is part number 1319.116-276
$16.40 plus $8 shipping.

The kit includes the keys to remove the head unit and the connection bits. You need to buy separately a RCA to headphone jack Y-connector

A few of us have experience installing.
Above all patience is required, but it isn't difficult.

Its a piece of cake...did it and LOVE it....

Call becker (201)327-3434 x 209 or (888) 423-3537 x 1209.
dunno that part number, but you really don't have to...tell the parts guy the model number of your radio (CDR-220 or 230) and what you are doing, he knows the part #, costs ~$18.

The part from becker comes with the keys to remove the radio...you'll need to pull out the radio (using the keys), follow the kit instructions to make and install the plug in the back of the radio, run the wires where desired...(you'll need a Y shaped wire that has RCA male to headphone jack male adapters (avail at any radio shack, etc) to plug into the Ipod.
Remove the 'keys' from the radio BEFORE you slide it back in by pushing the buttons on the side near the keys...then slide the headunit back in (make sure the wiring harness is not hanging in the way).
Once the radio is back in, you'll need to enable the AUX function, see your radio manual or follow the instructions in the directions...and that's it...you can play the Ipod via the AUX source. You may want to raise the Ipod volume to 95%, otherwise it will be much lower than the radio volume...
Took me less than half an hour...

Does the CD changer input still work, or is the AUX and CD changer input the same one, only labeled differently?

It's the same physical input.
You switch it's function electronically.
You can pick AUX or CDC...only one can be hooked up .

Makes sense, anyway who needs a CD changer when you can have your entire collection on the iPod?
