Connector for wiring reverse light switch (manual gearbox)
#16
To be honest ... once I bit the bullet and bought a second hand gearboxhand I starter to be scared a bit. It is the most expensive part, and it signals more or less the point of no return! What if the gearbox was bad, what if there were some unexpected problems, etc ... oh my god. Turned out to be some minor things like a connector and a scarred instrument panel window, to finish the car.
One thing left is the steering wheel. Tempted to go for the T96 steering wheel from DCT MS.
Cosmetically I would prefer to change the odometer to reflect the real mileage of the car. The instrument panel I bought has 30.000miles less.

resurrecting this thread, I've been looking for a pig tail/connector for the reverse light switch on my cup car transaxle. Turns out this switch is extremely common, and as per our member's citation above, has many part numbers including AC Delco. After getting a quote for $30 to pull a plug off a Saab, I decided to do a little more digging. This connector looks very much like a NTK wheel speed sensor, part 1P1362, which cost me $13 shipped to the house. Hopeful this will solve my issue.

RockAuto has what appears to be the original plug (not the Boxster BOSCH one) here for $10:

I got the part and can confirm it does work OK. The body is a good fit, but the pins in the switch seem to be somewhat larger than the receptacles. Knowing that the switch itself is readily available, I elected to force the pigtail into the socket part way, pull it off and then insert a sharp awl into the sockets of the pigtail to create more room for the pins. Then I forced home the pigtail. Haven't tested the switch in a circuit yet as bodywork is not yet installed, but continuity did check out appropriately.
