I'm getting ready to have the fister mod done to my mufflers. I thought the connecting pipe should be 2", but in searching associated threads I see some have used 1 1/2" and 1 3/4".

What's the effect sound wise from the different sizes, or is it negligible? Stainless steel connector or galvanized? Any help appreciated.

Smaller diameter pipe will give you higher pitched exhaust note. Given the option the 2" would be my choice.

I believe that Daren uses 1.75 in his product.

I wonder if anyone has ever done two different sized pipes? It definitely would give it a unique sound. I'm sure some math wiz could calculate the frequency and determine whether or not it would by a droning dissonance or the two exhaust notes would be in "harmony".
