Default High level craftsmanship

I recently chipped a small corner on my Depo taillight, and while my OCD tendencies will probably mean I'll have to replace it, for the heck of it I decided to google tail light repair to see if anyone had some ideas I might not have thought of. I was right!

I never can get over the skill level of our fellow citizens. Skip right to the two minute mark to see the finished product. I can't even tell where the hole was!

I think of high level craftsmanship resulting in when upon completion, you cannot tell there has been a repair, this is not that. For me this repair translates to, it's more important to keep the lights on than buy a new one. The cost for this repair is it looks like crap and to be honest I can do this repair.

I'm gonna post this over on ferrarichat.com . Those guys really get screwed on the cost of replacement parts. I'm sure they'd appreciate it.

This made me laugh after I realized I did not heed OP's advise to skip to the result and wasted 2 mins watching, lol.

The fact that this guy not only considered this an acceptable repair, but that it was so good it just had to go on You Tube as a "tutorial" is what cracked me up.

My guess would be that this is somebody with a beater car, little or no money, and an inspection coming up. Back when I was one of those guys (i.e. high school), I would've thought this repair beat the alternatives of red cellophane or being a pedestrian.

That said, I don't think I'd have felt compelled to make up a "tutorial." And, of course, back then there were junkyards everywhere. A new used tail light for a '63 Buick Special would've cost about three bucks.
