Connection piece for water hose to AOS
I will be proactively replacing the often broken plastic water hose connector #99610622652 with one of the aluminum pieces. Questions I have are: Do I need to drain some water? If yes, how much? If yes, where is a graceful place on the engine to drain such water?
In addition, "Why is there air?"(note this was before all the claims against him came forward)!
Thanks

I am planning this same job. There is a drain at the bottom of the engine case towards the rear of the car that drains a reasonable amount of coolant so I am hoping it is enough to prevent a mess at the fitting
Hoping for input from others.

Draining from the engine bottom will work but prolly more than needed and bleeding will be needed afterwards.
If I remember right, that connection will only drain the coolant tank empty once the hose is removed. So if you can somehow siphon the tank empty, you should minimize the mess. Also don't need to bleed afterwards.

For those cars in a warm climate is the coolant connection to the AOS necessary? Just thinking a bypass may be easier for the cars in warm areas like Fl, Ca? Not my original idea!

I don't know, but would seriously doubt that Porsche would make a change for climate of the delivered car. A car may be sold in SoCal, and later move to Manitoba.

Check that the disconnected hoses are clear. A common hack is to plug them with foam.In a very cold climate you need the coolant hose to work correctly.
So that is indeed what those two hoses are for! I am in the process of trying to replace my AOS, and after I had removed some of the stuff I found two 1/2" (or so) hoses above the intake manifold which I did not remember disconnecting from anything in the first place. Turns out they both go to the top of the AOS, and appeared to be dry. My car was originally a Florida car, so the question is was the car delivered that way, or has the AOS been already replaced and bypassed? I wonder where these hoses are supposed to go to? I'll have to check the above thread1

Supplier or reference number for piece greatly appreciated as hoping to get around to this PM item sooner than later and always good to have on hand before starting the work.
